Reference Chart |
Here we have coloured our own versions for your reference as well as given detailed instructions for colouring your personal deck. We have used mostly flat colour in order to maximize their effectiveness as a colouring guide. The only exception to this is 'metals' where we have tried to add some dimension to show that they are metallic colours. On your own cards you may wish to apply more shading and shape than we have done with ours. Also, make sure you check the colouring instructions when choosing colours as your screen may render a colour incorrectly. One of the advantages of colouring your own is that you can make sure you have clear, rich, true colours for your meditative and magical work.
Colour Aids
Here are some colour references for different types of media. As we discover new information we will expand this list. When more than one number or name appears the one in BOLD is preferred. Please E-Mail any suggestions, recommendations, improvements or additions to this list.

* When using computer based colours (like Hex codes) you can change the intensity of the colour by making equal changes to each pair. Hex represents RGB as hex pairs (Photoshop, uses decimal values for the same thing). As long as you maintain the ratio the colour will be true, just darker or lighter.
It is important to realise, though, that light does not conform to the same colour rules as pigment. With pigment you are working with Red, Blue and Yellow as your primaries and all other colours extend from them. With light (such as computer screens, gels, or in the scientific arena) the primaries are Red, Green and Blue. As you can see, an even mixture of Red light and Green light produce Yellow. For this reason the wheel is shorter for Yellow based colours because, with Light, Yellow is a secondary, not a primary.
I won't even go into the third colour wheel which is Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black.
